Weaving Through the Darkness – Blossom Tip 19

Today, Blossy and I are sharing tips that are rather disconnected. She wanted to encourage you to pause, take a deep breath, and make sure you’re going in the right direction. I wanted to talk about The Weaver.

So, we decided to compromise! And do both 🙂

Weaving Through the Darkness Blossom Tips

Pause. Take a deep breath. Are your choices helping you get closer to the desires of your heart? Take time to be deliberate and careful about even the smallest decisions in your life.

Those “little” decisions — exercising, eating healthy, working towards your goals, attending to your most important relationships — have a big impact on your life.

You’re getting closer and closer all the time, so don’t give up! Keep making those good decisions, keep moving forward. Trust.

This Week on She Blossoms

A reader asked for ideas on how to get closer to God. I told her I’d write an article called “How to Know You’ve Connected With God” — but it somehow turned into How to Rebuild Your Relationship With God After a Huge Fight. Sometimes the Holy Spirit just sorta takes over! Like Blossy.

And, I wrote When God Says No to the Desires of Your Heart for people (like me) who are struggling to discern their heart’s truest desires. Has God said no to the desires of your heart, or is He silent? Maybe He said no. Or He’s telling you to be patient.

Maybe He’s weaving something bigger and better than you can imagine…

The Weaver

Yesterday I found this poem — maybe you know it?

The Weaver

My life is just a weaving
Between my Lord and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaves so skillfully.

Sometimes He weaveth sorrow
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.

Not ‘til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And explain the reasons why —

The dark threads are as needful,
In The Weaver’s skillful hands
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

— B.M. Franklin (1882-1965)

We don’t know why those dark threads have to be woven into our lives…but God does. And maybe that’s all we need to know.

How are you doing with those dark threads? Can you see how they’re contributing to the weaving of your whole life, or are you struggling with them? Maybe you’re trying to rip them out of the tapestry.

Take a deep breath, and know that the darkest, thickest threads are in your life because of God’s skillful hands. He’s weaving a pattern for one purpose: to fill His good plans for your life.

So, keep going…you’re getting closer and closer to seeing God’s beautiful tapestry!

With His love,
Laurie and Blossy 🙂
