PADS: 4 Secrets to Blossoming

My new natural resting state is PADS: Present, Accepting, Detached, and Surrendered.

I walk on all four PADS no matter what joys or pains, celebrations or desolations, ups or downs I’m experiencing. PADS is my default perspective.

This is PADS:

1. Present in this moment, right here now. Not thinking of the mistakes I made yesterday, the meal I’m cooking later today, or the plans I made for next week. I am actually listening to the person I’m talking to and focused on the activity I’m involved in. I am here.

2. Accepting what I hear, see, smell, feel, and taste. Not fighting it, not succumbing to my wish that my reality was different, not yearning for what doesn’t exist. Not judging. Not pushing against it.

3. Detached from expectations and outcomes. Showing up, doing  my best work, giving this thing that I’m in my all. Letting go of what happens next.

4. Surrendered to my life and whatever happens – because I know everything is unfolding exactly the way it’s supposed to. Even if I don’t like it, even if I’m heartbroken, even if I’m sick and tired…I surrender. This doesn’t mean I’m passive or weak…it just means I’m flowing with my life as it is. And I’m staying alert to all possibilities that come my way.

God created you, and cares deeply for you. Believe this. Surrender. Allow Him to be as creative and original with your life as He is with the wildflowers in the fields and the exotic fish in the sea.
