Christian Dating Advice for Women in Love

The most important decision you’ll ever make is who to marry. This Christian dating advice – specifically for women in love – will help you stay focused on the most important thing in your life: your relationship with God. Everything else is gravy, including your relationship with your boyfriend or fiance.

Christian women in loveIn The Mingling of Souls: God’s Design for Love, Marriage, Sex, and Redemption, Matt Chandler uses the Song of Solomon as his source for advice about Christian life, love, and dating. Whether or not you’re in love, or just thinking about dating as a Christian, you’ll find this book helpful.

For Women in Love – Christian Dating Advice

I’ve been married for ten years to a Christian man, but I didn’t get married until I was 35 years old. Why? Because God shut down every relationship before that! It was hard to wait so long for marriage, but now I’m grateful. In How to Pray With Your Partner, I share a little bit about our Christian marriage.

I haven’t written too many articles for women in love who need Christian dating advice, which in hindsight seems odd. I dated Christian and non Christian men for 15 years, and had both good and bad experiences. It’s time for me to start sharing my dating advice for Christian women in love, who need to be reminded of the most important relationship in their lives.

Tell God your hopes for your relationship

What are your hopes for your future? It’s so tempting to rush into committed relationships, engagements, even premarital sex – especially when you’ve been single for a long time. You’re experiencing a natural, healthy desire for connection and intimacy. God created men and women to be together, to fall in love and build relationships and marriage.

The most important Christian dating advice for women in love is to take your time. Be patient. I know the clock is ticking, and you yearn to be married. You want to start a family, you’re tired of being alone, and you believe God has promised you a husband and home. These are good, healthy thoughts and desires! There is nothing wrong with your hopes for a marriage and family.

Let God go first

Do you know what’s best for you? Smart Christian women admit that no, they really don’t know what should happen in their dating relationships, marriages, and lives. They know what they want to happen because they’re women in love, but they don’t know what God knows.

I thought I knew who I wanted to be with. Many times, I was certain that THIS was the guy I should marry! I was so wrong, and I am grateful God saved me from marrying the wrong man. I never once searched for Christian dating advice in books or online, so I didn’t have a clue how women in love avoid making serious, life-changing mistakes.

Seek the wisdom of others – but take it to God

Never allow Christian dating advice to become more important than the voice of Jesus! Women in love need to gather wisdom from Godly friends and family, Biblical advice, prayer, direction from the man they’re dating, and Christian dating tips. Get as much information as you can, and take it to God. Pray over your relationship, goals, hopes, and feelings. Don’t rush into marriage, and don’t make impulsive decisions that will affect the rest of your life.
