God’s Dreams for Your Life – and Other Blossoms

  • Laurie

Would you agree that who you marry has a bigger impact on your life than any other decision you could make?

A reader’s comment captured my heart this week – it was from someone I’ll call “RosyBelle.”

God’s Dreams for Your Life – and Other Blossoms“I’ve been dating this guy about a year and a couple of months,” said RosyBelle on Should You Date Someone Who Has Different Religious Beliefs? “He claims to be Catholic and I’m scared because I am a Christian. We have talked about marriage and moving at a slow place. But he believes that I am wrong for putting God before him! I told him I would put him first before anyone I will never give my soul up for him or anyone. He thinks I’m wrong and that he’s not willing to marry me because of what I said. Should I keep this relationship going? Or should I move on?”

Even though I don’t give relationship advice, I couldn’t resist this one! So I wrote What You Need to Know About Dating Outside Your Faith.

God’s plans are better than your dreams

One of the gazillion things I love about God is His gift of free will. It’s a double-edged sword, though, because it can lead us to bad choices and even evil actions.

It can be tricky to find the balance between using your God-given intellect and trusting the Holy Spirit to guide you to the right decision. It’s even trickier to believe with all your heart that God’s plans really are better than your dreams.

What are you trusting God for?

Have faith. Take heart. Know that the seeds He has planted in your heart, soul, and spirit will Blossom.

Believe, and give Him those bits of unbelief that shake your roots.

In peace and passion,
– Laurie
