These web writing tips are straight from the horse’s mouth – a web writer who makes money! Learn how to write articles online from Angela England, the author of a concise, informative ebook called Making Money From Your Blogging in New Ways – Moving Beyond Banner Ad Sales.
“This ebook explores in detail the three main ways I have used my web writing to create extra money without having to ‘do’ a whole lot more or find time to exert more energy than I was already using,” writes Angela in Making Money From Your Blogging in New Ways.
As the mother of four (I think – maybe she has more!), Angela doesn’t have a lot of time to mess around. She writes ebooks, runs her own website (The Untrained Housewife), works as the Editor-in-Chief of Blissfully Domestic, writes for Suite101, offers telephone consultations for writers and bloggers, and embraces freelance writing gigs.
To learn how she makes money writing, read Making Money From Your Blogging in New Ways – Moving Beyond Banner Ad Sales – it’s jam-packed with strategies and suggestions for writing articles online.

Web Writing Tips – How to Write Articles Online and Make Money
Develop an organized system for finding keywords. I don’t spend a lot of time on Google Adwords and search engine optimization because I’d rather be writing, responding to comments, playing with my blog layout, and interacting on Twitter. But today, when I read Angela’s system for researching keywords, I realized anew the importance of taking time to properly optimize each and every blog post. After all, I want my articles to be read – not buried! In Making Money From Your Blogging, Angela offers a complete, easy to understand “Keyword Strategy Tutorial.”
Explore different ways to write online articles. There are so many ways to make money writing for the web: about.com, Suite101, Examiner, DemandStudios, HubPages, Squidoo, blogs, content sites such as Reader’s Digest and MSN Health…the possibilities are endless! To find the best writing opportunities for you, you need to dive in, learn how to write for the site, and stay committed for at least 50 articles. Says Angela, “Different [content writing sites] are useful in different situations, so understanding the differences between them can help you make choices that work best for you.” You can learn from other writers’ experiences – and Angela shares her experiences in her book – but nothing beats that “hands on” time.
Learn the basic online article template. Successful web writers have a structure for their articles: a title that clearly describes the article, subheadings for clarity, and a conclusion that ties the whole piece together. But remember that there is no one “right way” to write an article or blog post – and there isn’t one right way to format your blog! The last thing you want to do is become a clone of what already exists. Be a creator. Learn how to write online articles that attract readers and are skimmable – but hold on to your own style and voice.
Cluster your article ideas. One of the most efficient, profitable web writing tips is to write a series of related articles. In Making Money From Your Blogging in New Ways, Angela encourages brainstorming potential online article ideas: “I’ll start with my main topic first and then begin to make it more and more specific until the individual ideas are single articles or, even better, individual articles within a ‘content web’ for a series of articles.” For example, here on Quips and Tips for Successful Writers, I’d write a cluster of blog posts about making money blogging, writing articles online, tips for increasing blog traffic, and finding web writing jobs.
