1. Stay away from fad weight loss diets. There are a number of fad diets which are casually thrown around each year.  Many of these fad diets may work for short-term weight loss, but have no lasting effect.  However, this is not always true. There are a number of diets and weight loss programs that can make losing 30 pounds easier – if you follow them correctly.

It is important when selecting a weight loss program to examine the success rates, and ensure that the fat loss tips and goals don’t violate the basic principles of a healthy diet. Starving or excluding completely food groups from your diet is not the best way to lose weight.

2. Use your exercise time effectively. Instituting an effective exercise program will certainly go a long way in cementing your weight loss.  Many people think you need to spend hours exercising each day in order to lose weight. In truth, depending on your metabolism, you may only need to exercise for a short period a couple of times a week – if you maximize your workouts to burn more calories in a shorter period of time.  Intense circuit training can be one of the best exercise regimens you can institute.

3. Aim high – and keep shooting for the stars. Making small changes in your diet will help you lose 30 pounds and result in permanent weight loss. Start by instituting a long-range plan for your weight loss goals. This should include how much weight you would like to lose and how you plan to change your diet. Start by simply eliminating one unhealthy thing a week from your menu. Over time you will hardly notice these changes, and you’ll start losing that 30 pounds. As you eliminate items from your menu, introduce new low-fat versions to replace them.

4. Eat more often, and eat slowly. Eating meals slowly helps your stomach feel full faster.  It has been proven that your brain takes up to 20 minutes to realize when you have eaten enough food.  In that 20 minute period you may be consuming more calories than necessary! By eating 5 to 6 meals a day instead of three traditional meals, you can lose 30 pounds and achieve the weight loss goals that you set! Eating large meals allows your body to load up on calories and store them as fat if they are not used. Spreading meals out throughout the day allows your body to burn calories and helps with fat loss.

These tips for losing 30 pounds will help with permanent weight loss. Do your best to ignore the latest weight-loss craze – and stick to time proven methods!
