The Adventurous Writer Needs You! And She’s Willing to Pay

By , March 25, 2011 11:40 am

Let’s face it; adventurous writers can’t do it all alone. So hop on — the “Quips and Tips” train is gaining steam! I need writers to write for my websites, and I’m willing to pay bucks. Not big bucks because I’m just a small writer with a small business…but bucks nevertheless!

This paid blogging job involves writing articles for one (or all) of my four “Quips and Tips” blogs. Topics vary widely, from planning parties to getting pregnant to writing character descriptions to planting square foot gardens.

I pay per blog post in US dollars, via PayPal, on the second or third day of every month. You’re free to write for all four blogs, or just one or two. Your one or two line bio will appear at the end of every article you write, with links back to your blog, website, book, Twitter, Facebook, or wherever you’d like.

As the conductor of this choo choo, I do have a few guidelines… Continue reading 'The Adventurous Writer Needs You! And She’s Willing to Pay'»

A roundup of Quips and Tips articles about Christmas shopping, holiday gift ideas, and finding the right present for the right person. Make your Christmas shopping easy by doing most of it online — and doing it early!

Healthy Christmas Gift Ideas – 8 Holiday Gifts for All Ages lists eight holiday gifts that revolve around health and fitness. I’m buying my husband the first thing on the list…not that there’s anything wrong with his teeth just the way they are!

Best Video Games for Christmas – Holiday Gifts for Gamers was my favorite article about Christmas to write — it was a blast! I can’t wait to try Donkey Kong Country Returns — and get Wii. That was on my Christmas wish list three years ago, believe it or not. Still hasn’t materialized. Continue reading 'Quips and Tips for Christmas Shopping – Holiday Gifts Galore!'»

A New Quips and Tips eBook, and a New Quips and Tips Blog

By , September 16, 2010 10:20 am

My newest “Quips and Tips” ebook is always my favorite, which means 80 Ways to Say “I Love You” has top billing right now! I’ve written four “Quips and Tips” ebooks — two on love and relationships, and two on writing and blogging.

Like my “Quips and Tips” blogs, my ebooks are practical, helpful, tips-based guides to achieving goals and moving forward in life. 80 Ways to Say “I Love You” is designed to solve relationship problems before they start.

But sometimes relationship problems can’t be solved. Sometimes they lead to permanent rifts.

Rifts and breakups are difficult to recover from, even when they’re better for everyone involved. I wrote Letting Go of Someone You Love to help people bounce back; this ebook offers 75 tips from psychologists, life coaches, and other experts. It’s all about moving on after a heartbreak or loss. It’s so easy to get and stay trapped in the past…it’s definitely more difficult to find ways to say good-bye and move on, but boy is it worth it!

The past is no place to live.

Okay, enough about my Quips and Tips ebooks; let’s talk about my Quips and Tips blogs :-) My newest site is called Continue reading 'A New Quips and Tips eBook, and a New Quips and Tips Blog'»

Letting Go of Your Past – A “Quips and Tips” eBook

By , August 19, 2010 3:33 pm

My third “Quips and Tips” ebook is about letting go of your past; it’s based on my most popular article on Quips and Tips for Achieving Your Goals (“How to Let Go of Someone You Love”). Every day, that article gets hundreds of hits – and it barely skims the surface of letting go of your past!

I wanted to offer more (and better) information about saying goodbye, moving on, and rebuilding life after loss, so I wrote this ebook.

In 75 Ways to Let Go of Someone You Love, I offer the best, most helpful tips and strategies from psychologists, life coaches, family therapists, and counselors. It’s about letting go of addictive relationships, affair breakups, estranged family members, and long-lost loves. This book is about healing, strength, and authenticity.

Letting go of someone you love isn’t something you do once – and poof! You’re free, healed, and happy! Rather, letting go is a journey peppered with steps forward and steps backward, good days and bad days, peaks and valleys.

How do I know? Because I’m an “old pro” at letting go. I grew up in foster homes, Continue reading 'Letting Go of Your Past – A “Quips and Tips” eBook'»

About Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen

Costa Rica 2009 371_LPK

As a full-time freelance writer and blogger in Vancouver, British Columbia, I’m living proof that dreams do come true if you don’t mind bleeding, sweating, and crying a little…or a lot! I always wanted to earn a living as a writer, and am grateful for my work and life.

I’ve contributed to magazines such as Reader’s Digest, Writer’s Digest, Health, Woman’s Day, Spirituality & Health, alive, MSN Health and sometimes More.

I also enjoy writing health articles, newsletters, profiles, etc for clients such as BC Women’s Hospital and Health Match BC. I teach a Make Money Blogging course through Simon Fraser University, at the Vancouver campus. And, as an experienced teacher, I’m available to teach writing workshops, sit on blogging panels, etc.

My degrees are in Psychology and Education, from the University of Alberta in Edmonton; I live on Bowen Island, British Columbia, Canada (a 20 minute ferry ride from Vancouver).

Quips and Tips is my main focus these days — I created and manage five blogs that weave quotations with practical life tips. Though I happily accept assignments from editors and other clients, my dream is to build my blog empire and write a series of Quips and Tips e-books. I want to inspire people to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals — and I love the feedback and questions I get from readers!

See Jane Soar is my sixth blog; there, I offer life lessons inspired by quotations from successful woman. It’s based on a book project I’m working on.

That’s me, in a nutshell! Do you have any questions or thoughts? Just make a comment Continue reading 'About Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen'»

Cha-Ching! Money for Writers, Financial Abundance, and Couples Finance

By , February 27, 2010 8:03 am

My recent “Quips and Tips” articles focus on re-evaluating goals, setting new intentions, and money money money! Creating financial abundance is one of my favorite topics, so I’m forging ahead with money and goals…because it’s more fun to be The Adventurous Writer when you’re actually making money writing. :-)

What’s really been on my mind, however, is a 2,500 word article I just wrote for alive magazine. That’s the longest, most in-depth article I’ve ever written – and it was stressful! Why I want to write a 70,000 word book is beyond me…and yet I’m still aiming for a book contract from a reputable book publisher…

Also, I started a new “Quips and Tips” website, called Quips and Tips for Love Relationships. I found my Achieving Your Goals blog to be too love-heavy, so I’m transferring articles from Goals to Love…which means my Love blog is basically creating itself!

Okay, here’s a roundup of my most recent articles on Quips and Tips, See Jane Soar, and Psychology at Suite101… Continue reading 'Cha-Ching! Money for Writers, Financial Abundance, and Couples Finance'»

I’m thrilled at the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the years…and I love earning money from my blog writing! If you’re in Vancouver in May, I hope to see you at the course. Questions? Ask me below!

Okay, here’s a roundup of my most recent articles on Quips and Tips, See Jane Soar, and Psychology at Suite101… Continue reading 'Extroverted Writers, Skin Problems, Why Couples Break Up – New Quips and Tips!'»
