Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen, Creator of Quips and Tips

I’m a full-time freelance writer and blogger in Vancouver, BC, Canada. My degrees are in Psychology and Education, from the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

My freelance writing career started with magazines such as Reader’s Digest, Writer’s Digest, Health, Woman’s Day, Spirituality & Health, alive, MSN Health and sometimes More.

Now, I’m mostly focused on my Quips and Tips websites — but I do contribute the occasional magazine article, and I have a couple of clients for whom I write regularly (how’s that for good writing?!).

My goal, however, is to earn $50,000 a year from my Quips and Tips blogs. Lofty? Yes. Achievable? You betcha!

Quips and Tips eBooks

75 Ways to Let Go of Someone You Love - to help people let go of the past and move on with their lives. Letting go is one of the most painful things you’ll ever do…but there are ways to make it easier. This is by far my most popular ebook.

80 Ways to Say “I Love You” - to help people like me, who struggle to find the right holiday, anniversary, and birthday gifts for their partners! This ebook is about more than gifts, though — it’s about saying “I love you” and building a more meaningful relationship in small, incredibly important ways every day.

75 Ways to Survive Pet Loss - for people who are struggling to cope with pet loss. I interviewed veterinarians, grief experts, and pet owners who loved and lost their animals. This ebook contains 75 tips for healing after pet loss.

75 Ways to Make (More) Money Blogging - to help writers and bloggers make money doing what they love! If you spend time and energy on your blog, you deserve to earn a few bucks for your efforts. This ebook isn’t just about making money blogging, it’s about building a better blog.

73 Ways to Fire Up (or Just Fire!) the Muse- to help writers and bloggers overcome fear, self-doubt, criticism, and uncertainty. After all, who wants to read age 95 and wish they had written that bestselling novel? Who wants to die with unfulfilled dreams and desires? Not me.

If you live in Vancouver, BC – or you’re considering a visit – check out the Deep Cove Forum. I just started it a week ago – I want it to be an “online living room”, where Deep Cove residents and visitors can hang out, relax, and share helpful stuff!

All right, enough for now! Feel free to contact me through the comments page on any of my sites.

Go well, my friends…

Laurie

A New Quips and Tips eBook, and a New Quips and Tips Blog

By , September 16, 2010 10:20 am

My newest “Quips and Tips” ebook is always my favorite, which means 80 Ways to Say “I Love You” has top billing right now! I’ve written four “Quips and Tips” ebooks — two on love and relationships, and two on writing and blogging.

Like my “Quips and Tips” blogs, my ebooks are practical, helpful, tips-based guides to achieving goals and moving forward in life. 80 Ways to Say “I Love You” is designed to solve relationship problems before they start.

But sometimes relationship problems can’t be solved. Sometimes they lead to permanent rifts.

Rifts and breakups are difficult to recover from, even when they’re better for everyone involved. I wrote Letting Go of Someone You Love to help people bounce back; this ebook offers 75 tips from psychologists, life coaches, and other experts. It’s all about moving on after a heartbreak or loss. It’s so easy to get and stay trapped in the past…it’s definitely more difficult to find ways to say good-bye and move on, but boy is it worth it!

The past is no place to live.

Okay, enough about my Quips and Tips ebooks; let’s talk about my Quips and Tips blogs :-) My newest site is called Continue reading 'A New Quips and Tips eBook, and a New Quips and Tips Blog'»

Letting Go of Your Past – A “Quips and Tips” eBook

By , August 19, 2010 3:33 pm

My third “Quips and Tips” ebook is about letting go of your past; it’s based on my most popular article on Quips and Tips for Achieving Your Goals (“How to Let Go of Someone You Love”). Every day, that article gets hundreds of hits – and it barely skims the surface of letting go of your past!

I wanted to offer more (and better) information about saying goodbye, moving on, and rebuilding life after loss, so I wrote this ebook.

In 75 Ways to Let Go of Someone You Love, I offer the best, most helpful tips and strategies from psychologists, life coaches, family therapists, and counselors. It’s about letting go of addictive relationships, affair breakups, estranged family members, and long-lost loves. This book is about healing, strength, and authenticity.

Letting go of someone you love isn’t something you do once – and poof! You’re free, healed, and happy! Rather, letting go is a journey peppered with steps forward and steps backward, good days and bad days, peaks and valleys.

How do I know? Because I’m an “old pro” at letting go. I grew up in foster homes, Continue reading 'Letting Go of Your Past – A “Quips and Tips” eBook'»
